City’s Community Resources Division to Hold 12th Annual Senior Giving Tree to

Help Residents in Need This Holiday Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark— The Community Resources Division will host its 12th Annual Senior Giving Tree event at the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center (945 S. College Ave.) on Thursday, December 13 from 10:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. The event provides holiday cheer to local seniors in our community featuring multiple activities, games and prizes, music, and hot cider. Lunch is provided by the Senior Center and served by City staff and community volunteers who will also join in the festivities.

The City of Fayetteville Community Resources Division is currently seeking donations for homebound participants of the Meals on Wheels program as part of the Giving Tree holiday event. This time of year can be particularly hard for some residents and generous contributions can help make the holidays a little bit brighter for those in need. Wish list gift ideas include robes, nightgowns, house slippers, socks, blankets/throws, crossword/jigsaw puzzles, ergonomic pens, emergency radios, batteries, night lights, first aid kits, coloring books, crayons, and gift cards. Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase gifts. Unwrapped gifts will be accepted at the Community Resources office through 5 p.m. on Friday, December 7. The office is located on the west side of the Fayetteville Development Services building (125 W. Mountain St. at Church Avenue). If you have any questions, please contact division staff at 479-575-8260.

For more information about giving opportunities, including Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, Hearth Program, and Help-A-Neighbor Fund, please call the Community Resources office at 479-575-8260 or visit the community development section of the City’s website.
