Fall 2018 Square 2 Square Bike Ride is Saturday, September 22

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The Bentonville and Fayetteville parks and recreation departments collaborate to host the biannual Square 2 Square Bike Ride. The 2018 fall ride on Saturday, September 22 is presented by Clif Bar. Participants start the ride at Lawrence Plaza in downtown Bentonville between 8 - 10 a.m. and travel 30 miles south along the Razorback Greenway. The fun ride ends at the intersection of Mountain Street and Church Avenue in downtown Fayetteville with finisher festivities from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

If inclement weather causes the event to be canceled, participants will be notified by text and/or voice message via the phone number provided with registration information.

This fall, more than 1,900 riders will be participating in the event, so City officials are asking people to use caution when traveling near Razorback Greenway trail crossings in Northwest Arkansas. Drivers traveling in Fayetteville should be aware as participants ride from the Frisco Trail section of the Greenway via Spring Street (eastbound) and Church Avenue (southbound) to downtown. Signs will be posted; parking lot, parking space, and street closures are from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cars not vacated from event spaces by 7 a.m. on Saturday morning will be relocated by NWA Towing to the City Employee Parking lot located on Mountain Street near Locust Ave.

Additionally, a section of W. Spring Street between West and Church Avenues will feature a pop up protected bike lane t temporarily installed for the day by BikeNWA. W. Spring Street will remain open to traffic; however, parking will not be available on the south side of the street.
