Nighttime Asphalt Work to Close Garland Avenue Near UA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— A contractor for the City of Fayetteville will be milling and placing an asphalt overlay on a section of Garland Avenue between Maple Street and Wedington Drive. The crew will work on this project during the night to prevent traffic disruption and will alternate work on north- and southbound lanes. Detours will be marked.

Work will take place 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. during the night from Monday, July 30 through Monday August 6. Please note that rain could extend the estimated time of work and completion date.

Oil will be sprayed on the roadway prior to the placement of asphalt overlays. If necessary, you may drive on the oil before the asphalt is placed. Please drive slowly and carefully. Driving fast will throw oil on your vehicle and endanger the crew. If oil is thrown on your vehicle, it can be removed with WD-40 spray and paper towels.
