Meet Your Trails 2015 Kick-Off
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Take a tour of the Lake Fayetteville Paved Trail with City of Fayetteville Finance Director, Paul Becker. The tour will begin at the dam on the north side of Lake Fayetteville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th. Participants can enjoy the full loop (5.5 miles) or turn around at any time. The full loop tour will take approximately two hours to complete. This kick-off will be the first of four trail tours.
Lake Fayetteville is one of the most popular parks in Fayetteville. Shared by walkers, runners, and cyclists – a paved trail (5.5 miles) and a nature trail (6.9 miles) loop around the lake. There is a variety of flora and fauna in natural settings as well as beautiful views of the lake. Bring a camera!
The City’s Employee Wellness Committee developed the “Meet Your Trails” program to provide citizens and employees the opportunity to explore different segments of Fayetteville trails and to meet the City’s administration and department staff. Bring co-workers, friends, or family so they too can spend time enjoying the trails while getting a bit of exercise. A different trail tour – varying in length, terrain, and difficulty – will be led once a month through August.
The City’s Employee Wellness Committee is dedicated to helping the workplace become a more health conscious one. Feel free to contact Employee Wellness Committee members with any ideas or suggestions that can make a difference in the overall health of all employees at the City of Fayetteville.
