City Seeks Volunteers to Conduct Annual Keep Fayetteville Beautiful Litter Index

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville is seeking seven volunteers to conduct the annual Keep Fayetteville Beautiful Litter Index. As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Fayetteville Beautiful is required to perform a litter index each year to gauge litter issues in our community.

The 2018 litter index survey will be conducted on Wednesday, July 25 from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. and will begin and end at the Recycling and Trash Collection Division facility (1560 S. Happy Hollow Rd.). A brief training session will be held from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Volunteers will then ride in a City van giving scores about litter in Fayetteville neighborhoods.  Volunteers will be treated to lunch.

Please contact Brian Pugh, waste reduction coordinator, by telephone 479-718-7685 or e-mail bpugh@fayetteville-ar.gov if you are interested. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age and able to ride in a vehicle for multiple hours at a time.
