City Adds Complimentary Public Wi-Fi in Ten New Locations
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A goal of both Mayor Lioneld Jordan and the Fayetteville City Council is to maintain and improve the City’s infrastructure – including technology. A detail of that goal is to enhance internet access for citizens; this was accomplished last week when staff rolled out complementary public Wi-Fi in new locations across the City:
- Bryce Davis Park
- Gary Hampton Softball Complex
- Lake Fayetteville
- Veterans Memorial Park
- Gulley Park
- Wilson Park
- Walker Park
- Kessler Mountain Regional Park
- Dickson Street Parking Lot (aka WAC lot)
- Spring Street Parking Garage
Complimentary Wi-Fi continues to be available at the Downtown Square, Fayetteville Senior Center, Fayetteville Public Library, and various City buildings. As part of the telecommunications contract, the City was able to increase internet/network speeds and add new Wi-Fi locations for $605 per month less than its previous contract.
Visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/wi-fi to find public hotspot locations and how to get connected. City staff will soon place signage close to hotspots.
