Active Transportation Plan
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville adopted an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) and Map at the April 7, 2015, City Council meeting. The Active Transportation Plan and Map replaces the 2003 Fayetteville Alternative Trails and Transportation (FATT) Plan, and it will be used to guide the design and implementation of bicycle and sidewalk infrastructure going forward.
The ATP sets forth a vision and a roadmap for measuring success and it provides the general parameters for the prioritization and design of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure without prescribing solutions for specific projects. Individual projects to be implemented should incorporate the vision and principles set forth in this plan, while balancing the goals of the plan, funding availability, citizen input, and potential success for each project.
The City encourages the public to view Fayetteville’s Active Transportation Plan and Map on the City of Fayetteville Trails Construction page here: http://ar-fayetteville.civicplus.com/1261/Trail-Construction-Program.
