Stormwater Drainage Improvements on Hummingbird Lane

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division is making stormwater drainage improvements on Hummingbird Lane. The project includes replacing drain pipes, curb and gutter, and driveway approaches on the west side of the road.

The construction work will require closing Hummingbird Lane (Cardinal Dr. to Overcrest Ln.) Monday, Jan. 22 through Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. The street will be reopened to thru traffic at night. Detour routes will be marked.

Please use extreme caution when in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.

Water (from rain or other sources) that is not absorbed by soil travels along impervious surfaces such as streets, sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots to stormwater drains or nearby streams and creeks. The water then travels through the drain pipes and waterways – emptying into either the Illinois River Watershed or the White River/Beaver Lake Watershed. Beaver Lake is the clean, treated, ready-to-drink tap water source for more than 320,000 households in Northwest Arkansas, including the Fayetteville residents.

On behalf of the City of Fayetteville, we would like to express our appreciation for your cooperation and understanding as we perform our work in this area. For additional information on the project, please contact the City of Fayetteville Transportation Division office at 479-575-8228.  Office hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
