Invasive Plant Pull at Mt. Sequoyah Woods
Sunday, April 30, 2023
Hosted by the Beaver Watershed Alliance & the City of Fayetteville.
Help make a difference in the Beaver Lake Watershed by removing non-native invasive bush honeysuckle and aggressive Oriental bittersweet! The removal of these plants not only helps to protect water quality by reducing erosion issues associated with them, but it helps to protect this wooded area, a home to abundant wildlife and native plant diversity, right in the heart of town.
Check-in will be at the Mt. Sequoyah Woods trailhead, located at the intersection of E. Paddock Road and S. Happy Hollow Rd in Fayetteville, AR. We will do a brief introduction, then walk in to the volunteer area. Drop-ins welcome! If you arrive after 2:00, please park and walk up the paved trail to the pavilion area where volunteers will be working.
Gloves, tools, water, and hands-on training will be provided. Weather appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear recommended.
