Woolsey Farmstead Invasive Plant Pull

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Invasive Pull hosted by Jacobs Engineering Group and City of Fayetteville.

Please join us in removing invasive plants from a culturally and ecologically significant area in west Fayetteville!

The Woolsey family settled this site and built an historic home, which is currently under restoration, in 1842.  The farmstead adjoins the beautiful 44 acre Woolsey Wet Prairie, a wetland mitigation site and favorite to plant and bird enthusiasts.  The prairie was restored during the construction of the West Side Wastewater Treatment Facility in the early 2000's.

This is a great opportunity to see restoration efforts in process while contributing to the health of the ecosystem by helping to remove unwanted invasives plants.  Gloves, tools, water, and hands-on training will be provided; sturdy closed-toe footwear required.
