Invasive Plant Pull at Mt. Sequoyah Woods

Thursday, March 9, 2023

Hosted by the Beaver Watershed Alliance & City of Fayetteville

Help make a difference in the Beaver Lake Watershed, improving and protecting our most precious natural resource -water!
If you want to lend a hand, your help is needed at Mt. Sequoyah Woods, a 97-acre open greenspace in south Fayetteville. Mt. Sequoyah Woods is part of a National Fish & Wildlife Foundation project to promote a healthy ecosystem and wildlife in urban forests.

We will be focused on removing bush honeysuckle, and the highly aggressive Oriental bittersweet vine, to protect this area from their spread and to promote native plants for wildlife habitat.

Check-in will be at the Mt. Sequoyah Woods trailhead, located at the intersection of E. Paddock Road and S. Happy Hollow Rd in Fayetteville, AR. We will do a brief introduction, then walk in to the volunteer area.  Drop-ins welcome! If you arrive after 2:00, please park and walk up the paved trail to the pavilion area where volunteers will be working.

Gloves, tools, water, and hands-on training will be provided. Weather appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear recommended.
