Lake Wilson Cleanup, Invasive Pull & Plant Walk
Saturday, November 5, 2022
Please join Pack Rat Outdoor Center and the City of Fayetteville for a fun morning of stewardship activities as we wrap up the fall volunteer season at Lake Wilson! We have several options for engagement at this event including litter cleanup throughout the park and surrounding county roads, group removal of invasive plants, and a guided walk with Nate Weston to observe and discuss late fall botany and the lake ecology. (Tools and supplies provided for all volunteer activities, please wear closed-toe shoes.) Fayetteville Recycling and Trash Collections will also be giving out Food Waste Buckets to Fayetteville residents.
Agenda: The morning will start with pastries and coffee donated by Ozark Natural Foods and Basecamp Coffee, followed by volunteer activities. We will wrap up the event at 11:45 with s'mores, and Pack Rat will give out some great prizes from Salewa, Darn Tough Socks, and Chacco!
RSVPs are appreciated! Please email kjones@fayetteville-ar.gov to RSVP.
Directions: The park is located at 4668 S Lake Wilson Road. From Fayetteville, take Morningside Drive south from 15th Street for approximately two miles. Morningside Drive becomes City Lake Road; turn left on Wilson Hollow Road. Follow the gravel road over the White River, then turn left on Lake Wilson Road. Event check-in is on the dam.
