Lake Fayetteville Fall Cleanup: Pick Up Where You Play

Saturday, September 17, 2022

The Lake Fayetteville Watershed Partnership and City of Fayetteville invite you to grab your paddles, pull on your mud boots, and join us for a fun day of stewardship on Lake Fayetteville!  Your help is needed to tackle litter throughout the park and along the banks where the trash is hardest to reach. Our emphasis for this cleanup will be along the water, but ALL volunteers are welcome and needed to help clean up the lake and environs.

Check In:

  • General Volunteers:
Volunteers assisting with cleaning up the park lands, trails and roadways can check in and pick up cleanup supplies at the Lake Fayetteville     Environmental Study Center, 511 E. Lakeview Drive, Springdale, AR. 72764, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  Parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged.
  • Paddling Volunteers:  A limited supply of kayaks and canoes will be available to borrow, and volunteers are also welcome to bring their own boats.  To RSVP boats, please contact parksvolunteer@fayetteville-ar.gov before the event.  Paddlers will check in at the Lake Fayetteville Marina located at 1330 Lake Fayetteville Road, Fayetteville, AR. 72764.

Supplies and Snacks:  All cleanup supplies and light snacks will be provided; please remember to bring a refillable water bottle.

Thank you collaborators and sponsors!  Illinois River Watershed Partnership, University of Arkansas Extension Services, Boston Mountain Solid Waste, Keep Arkansas Beautiful, Beaver Water District, Benton County Environmental Division, and Gracie's Canoe and Camp.

This event is part of Pick Up Where You Play, a series of cleanups happening in Washington and Benton Counties this fall.  All participants 18 and older will be entered to win a grand prize of a 2-night cabin stay and float trip for 4 people at Gracie's Canoe and Camp in Pineville, Mo. on the Elk River!
