Taxi and Transit Passes

The Transportation Program is designed to provide elderly, disabled, and low-to-moderate income residents of Fayetteville with supplemental transportation assistance. The program is comprised of two main programs, in the hopes of providing a greater service to the community.

Applicants and participants are only limited to one of the following programs at a time:

Transit Program

Note: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, all ORT rides are currently free of charge. The City of Fayetteville is not providing ORT passes at this time.

Taxi Program

Taxi Program provides supplemental taxi vouchers to elderly and/or disabled residents of Fayetteville.

Note: The Taxi Program is currently at capacity and is not accepting new applicants at this time. An announcement will be made when the program is re-opened to allow for new program participants.

Qualification Process

To qualify for the Taxi Program, prospective participants must:

  • Must be 62 years of age or older and/or disabled
  • Complete the Taxi Program Application, available by calling our office at 479-575-8260
  • Live within the Fayetteville City limits
  • Household must fall within the low-to-moderate income guidelines (PDF) provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Receiving Tickets

Tickets are printed and mailed to each participant by the first of the upcoming month. All taxi tickets expire December 31st of the year in which they were issued. Coupons may be combined with cash, if necessary. Please note that coupons have no cash value, and riders will receive no change if coupons used exceed the cost of the fare.
