  1. Youth Programs

After School Program

During the fall and spring semesters, we offer an after school program for ages Kindergarten to 6th grade from 3-6 p.m. on Monday through Friday

We provide fun and structured programming that includes educational enrichment and homework assistance. Youth are fed a snack provided by the Fayetteville Public Schools Child Nutrition Department. Additional activities include field trips, cooking, gardening, games, crafts, computer coding, physical education, outdoor education, and so much more!

Girls on the Run

YRCC serves as a community host site for the Girls on the Run program of Northwest Arkansas. The program is for girls in 3rd-5th grades. GOTR will meet twice a week September 12 - November 16, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm. Register directly through Girls of the Run of NWA. This wonderful collaborative opportunity affords young ladies the chance to have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity levels, and learn important life skills. Financial assistance available!

X-Factor Home School Physical Education

The YRCC offers a low-cost weekly physical education class for children enrolled in home-school to ensure that participants receive training in Health and Fitness as part of their studies. Classes teach the fundamentals of warm-up, physical activity, teamwork, health education, and nutrition all while partnering with local organizations to enhance and expand learning opportunities.

X-Factor is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-11 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters.

Bridge the Gap (Teens and Seniors)

NEW to YRCC is the "Bridging the Gap" program that connects teenagers ages 10 - 15 with senior citizens. The program's goal is to increase interaction between groups of people who do not normally interact. The groups meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Fayetteville Adult Center and the Yvonne Richardson Community Center. Teens and adults interact with each other by playing board games, and sports, conversing with each other, and more.

Preschool Playtime

This is a special (free!) open gym time for ages 2-4 years and their caregivers. It features our imagination playground and obstacle course.

Check in at front desk, no sign up needed.

Kid Crops Gardening

The ARPA award-winning Kid Crops program gives children the opportunity to learn about gardening and nutrition, while planting and harvesting their own crops with Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Horticulturists.

Kid Crops is offered seasonally throughout the school year as a part of our after school program on Wednesday evenings from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the garden located on YRCC’s premises.

YRCC's summer gardening program is available from 9-10 a.m. to youth registered for Summer Fun4Kids Camp.
