What is This Project?
This project will complete the north-south backbone trail west of I-49. Over the years, many section of the Shiloh trail have been completed by development occurring in the area. This project will connect all of these sections from Garland Avenue south to the Cato Springs Trail and Kessler Mountain Regional Park. Bond issue Phase One includes construction of the Centennial Park entrance path and design of Centennial Park connections and the Shiloh Trail from Moore Lane to Centennial Park.
Why is it Important?
This project provides a significant north-south trail connection to many residential, employment and commercial areas along the I-49 corridor.
What is the Current Status?
Many sections of the Shiloh Trail have been completed and the remaining sections have been designed. Most of the trail is within existing right of ways which will accelerate the acquisition process.
When Will it be Completed?
This project is anticipated for construction in 2023-2025 for all three phases.
How is it Funded?
Funding for the City’s portion of the project comes from the Bond Issue approved by voters April 9th, 2019.
