What is this Project?
Upgrade of signal controllers and equipment citywide as necessary so that all intersections are using the same hardware and software.
Why is It Important?
The City has multiple versions of traffic signal controllers, many of which are obsolete, unsupported by manufacturers, and difficult to maintain. The new equipment will:
- Be easier to maintain
- Allow for quicker corrections and adjustments to signal timings from a central location
- Better accommodate pedestrian cycles
- Accommodate connected vehicles and other emerging technology

Construction complete.
When Will it be Completed?
All upgrades are complete..
How is it Funded?
Funding for the project comes from the Bond Issue approved by voters in April 2019.
