Electricity and natural gas services are provided for Fayetteville residences through private companies. These businesses are not associated with the City of Fayetteville.

Electrical Service

There are two electrical utility providers in the Fayetteville area. Which electric company services your home is determined by your location. 

AEP / SWEPCO

American Electrical Power (AEP) or Southwestern Electrical Power Company (SWEPCO) 

To start a new service account with SWEPCO, you may apply online. SWEPCO offers several payment options, including auto monthly withdrawal, or paying in person, by phone or by mail.

Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corporation

This company provides all rural and some city electric service. To start your service, you may visit the Fayetteville office at 3641 Wedington Drive.

Natural Gas Service

Natural Gas is used in most home heating systems and for many kitchen stoves and some dryers. Black Hills Energy is the sole provider of gas service in Fayetteville and surrounding rural areas.
