To help promote the installation of naturalistic landscapes in residential yards in Fayetteville, the City created the Naturalistic Landscape Ordinance. Ordinance #5250 was passed by the Fayetteville City Council in 2009 by the Sustainability and Resilience, Parks and Recreation and Community Resources Departments.
By filling out the application the City recognizes that your landscape is comprised of plants that are native or non-invasive in Northwest Arkansas. Applications shall be resubmitted annually to keep up the ever changing nature of plants.
Natural landscapes help the environment by:
Conserving soil and mulch
Reducing the need for pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers
