Honor Guard

The Fayetteville Police Department Honor Guard was established in 2003 to serve the needs of our city, community, region and state, as well as our great nation. This specialized unit is comprised of sworn personnel from various divisions. Members of the Honor Guard must be adept at precision marching, flag standards, the U.S. Military Manual of Arms, the intricacies of choreography and funeral standards. They must also have the ability to stand at attention or at parade rest or funerary rest for extended periods.

Honor Guard Activities

The Honor Guard represents the department at several special details throughout the year. The team participates in local, regional and state ceremonial activities and funeral services that are focused on honoring fallen brothers and sisters in law enforcement. The Honor Guard and its members take part in the presentation of the colors at meetings, sporting events and conventions.
Marching and the 21-gun salute are also functions of this squad as they honor local public figures and fallen comrades at funerals.

The Fayetteville Police Department Honor Guard is proud to join other police honor guards throughout the region and state at the annual Arkansas Law Enforcement Memorial in Little Rock and the Northwest Arkansas Law Enforcement Memorial.
