The Fayetteville Police Department’s current testing date is June 3, 2023, and the deadline to apply is May 30, 2023, at 5:00 PM. The department does accept applications year-round. You can also text FPDJOBS to 474747 for updates on testing dates.

Application Tips: Police Officer Applicant Testing Application

  1. Have the following documents ready, because they must be attached to your application:
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Birth Certificate, Passport, or Naturalization Card
    • High School Diploma, College Diploma, or Transcript from either with graduation date
    • DD214 (If you were a member of the armed forces) *Does not apply to current armed forces employees

Study Guide and Practice Test Available

An optional Study Guide and Practice Test for the Police Officer written examination is available for applicants to purchase directly from the testing company. It is not necessary for an applicant to purchase a Study Guide or complete a Practice Test in order to pass the written test. However, applicants who take time to familiarize themselves with the test and ways to prepare for it may tend to feel more confident on the day of the test.
