This fifth annual event will be held on Saturday, June 12 at 7:00am at Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The atmosphere of the Ladies Du Fayetteville is a unique multi-sport race experience for women athletes. We welcome women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming athletes to participate in the Du. We look forward to planning this one-of-a-kind duathlon to take place in a safe and modified way in 2021. In addition, we are planning a Virtual Race option, allowing racers to participate when and where they choose while still connecting to the spirit of the Ladies Du!
The duathlon will follow a traditional run/bike/run format with the distances being 2 miles/11 miles/2 miles. The race will take place at Lake Fayetteville utilizing the paved trails around and near the lake. Participants can race as individuals or as a relay team of two or three.
Training ProgramThe Ladies Du Fayetteville duathlon training program will consist of six fitness sessions, meeting on Wednesdays at 6:00pm, at Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville. Sessions will be 45-60 minutes in length. Participants will meet at the small pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park unless otherwise communicated. The goal of the program is to help athletes become familiar with the race course and build up confidence in abilities for the Du! In addition to the fitness session, the program will kick off with a goal setting / mindset workshop and conclude with a post-event goal/mindset review session.
