Insurance Services Office (ISO) has given the City of Fayetteville a Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating of Class 1, the best possible classification.
This new classification has the potential to reduce insurance premiums for owners of property located within Fayetteville city limits. ISO collects information on municipal fire-protection efforts in communities throughout the United States using their Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) to analyze data and give PPC classifications from one to ten, with one being the best. ISO evaluates fire agencies dispatching capabilities, water supply system, and fire department operations. Most insurance companies use ISO’s PPC to determine insurance premiums for residential, commercial, and industrial property owners.
From 2014 through 2017, Fayetteville had a Class 2 rating. Before 2014, the City was rated as a Class 4. The Fayetteville Fire Department recommends that property owners contact their insurance providers and check if the new classification reduces the insurance premiums.
The Public Protection Classification Class 1 ISO rating became effective on May 1, 2018. Review or download Fayetteville's ISO Public Protection Classification report (PDF).
