RE: THREAT TO ARKANSAS SCHOOLS CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Today, Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced the Fayetteville Police Department will be working closely with Fayetteville Public Schools by providing additional officers to patrol schools this week.
On August 25, 2019, we received a general awareness statement issued by the Little Rock office of the FBI regarding the possibility of a school shooting in Arkansas on August 29th. They believe this threat is unsubstantiated, and we are not aware of any threat directed at Fayetteville Public Schools.
As a precaution, the Fayetteville Police Department and the Fayetteville Public Schools have increased the police presence at local schools by providing additional officers. These additional officers, school resource officers, and our patrol officers are on alert and ready to provide the highest level of service to our schools and our community.
