Public Invited to Speaker Series on Broadband Internet
 
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— Mayor Lioneld Jordan and the Digital Inclusion Task Force invite residents to provide valuable input and learn more about the Fayetteville Digital Inclusion Plan at two upcoming events in August and September at the Fayetteville Public Library (401 W. Mountain St.). Light snacks will be served.
 
The Fayetteville Digital Inclusion Plan strives to ensure equitable and affordable broadband so that all residents can have access to healthcare, online learning, employment opportunities, close the homework gap, and increase ways in which citizens can be civically engaged. 
 

Digital Readiness Community Forum
Thursday, August 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Walker Room at the Fayetteville Public Library
Local expert, Dr. David Fredrick, will present"The Future of Homework," a brief talk about how education will continue to require access to high-speed internet. In the last hour, attendees will brainstorm ideas for improving digital literacy in Fayetteville.
 

Internet Access—Quality and Affordability in Fayetteville
Wednesday, September 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Walker Room at the Fayetteville Public Library
 A moderated discussion state of internet service in Fayetteville with representatives from three broadband providers: AT&T, Cox, and OzarksGo.
 
The City’s Digital Inclusion Task Force, the Mayor, and the Fayetteville Public Library kicked off a guest speaker series on May 17, with Advancing Digital Equity and Broadband Opportunities for Residents of Fayetteville, presented by Joann Hovis of the Coalition for Local Internet Choice.
