Fayetteville Mobility Plan Report to be Presented at March 20 City Council Meeting

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Nelson\Nygaard, the City’s consultant for the Fayetteville Mobility Plan, will give a final report presentation at the March 20 City Council meeting. Citizens are invited to watch the presentation in person or live via the Fayetteville Government Channel (on television Cox Channel 216 or AT&T U-verse Channel 99), or streaming live at this link. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in Room 119 at City Hall (113 W. Mountain Street). A recording of the presentation will be hyperlinked on the Mobility Plan webpage the following day.

The Fayetteville Mobility Plan will be a key resource for collaborative development of transportation projects, bond measures, and policy change. The final report (with appendices) and additional documents, such as Parking Master Plan, have recently been added to the City’s website and can be reviewed/downloaded here: www.fayetteville-ar.gov/mobility.

Nelson\Nygaard is working with City staff to create a project selection and prioritization toolbox that can be used at outreach events. Staff will use the tools in exercises with City Council on Monday, March 19 at City Hall, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. (Room 326) and from 4:30 to 6 p.m. (Room 111). These tools, combined with recommendations from the Mobility Plan, will provide a framework for the Fayetteville community, stakeholders, staff, and City Council to follow when developing a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) of the next ten years of transportation projects. The plan will be presented to City Council for adoption. Please stay tuned for announcements of public outreach events and programs throughout 2018.

The City of Fayetteville is invested in improving your transportation, whether you drive and park, bicycle, walk, or use public transit. The Fayetteville Mobility Plan is a future-focused document that has been developed through public input, stakeholder workshops, and evaluation of Fayetteville's infrastructure, policies, and programs.
