City’s Cashier/Utility Office to Close Briefly for Software Upgrades
 
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville is conducting technology upgrades to its utility billing software. This activity will limit the ability to process payments or assist customers at City Hall as follows:

  • Thursday, June 8: Payments will not be accepted after 4 p.m.; the Utility Financial Services Division and cashier’s office will not be open to the public. The utility billing online payment system will continue to accept payments.
  • Friday, June 9: The Utilities Financial Services Division and cashier’s office will be closed the entire day and will not be able to accept payments or be able to process utility account changes or additions (move ins, move outs, or take deposits).
  • Monday, June 12: All operations will return to normal.
 
All online payments made between June 8 and June 11 will be posted to your account on Monday, June 12.  All payments received during this time will be considered paid on time and no late fees will be applied. We are also performing our annual sewer averaging update on Monday, June 12. This process calculates monthly sewer charges based upon average water usage during the winter months.

This upgrade will update the City’s utility billing software, and is the third and final phase of the City’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation, approved by City Council in August of 2015. Phase one was completed in July of 2016, which consisted of upgrading the City’s core financial software modules. The second phase, completed in September 2016, upgraded the City’s human resources and payroll software. The new utility billing software will include the ability to enroll in recurring billing, the ability to view a PDF of your current bill (to be released in July), and utility accounts will be updated live.
