Fayetteville Residents Warned Not to Miss Upcoming Spring Fun!

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to begin registration for many upcoming spring recreation programs:

  • Adult Coed Kickball – Teams and free agents can register to play in one of three leagues: Game On League (most competitive), Chill Out League (mixed competition), and Just for Kicks League (lowest level of competition). Each team plays two games per week and teams pick the night and time to play during registration.
  • Adult Slowpitch Softball – Over 2,600 adults play softball during three season. Leagues are available for men, women, and coed players.

The Fayetteville Race Series enters its third year of programming and registration is open for the next two events:

  • Ladies DU Fayetteville is a ladies-only duathlon (run 2 miles / bike 11 miles / run 2 miles) around Lake Fayetteville. Individuals or relay teams can participate in this rewarding event with hundreds of other women.
  • Spring Square2Square Bike Ride is a fun-ride celebrating the region’s downtown squares. Enjoy 30 miles of Razorback Regional Greenway cycling followed by post-ride festivities that include live music, community farmer’s markets, refreshments, bicycle valet, discounts to square area businesses, and more!

Parks and Recreation announces a new program this year – Youth Ultimate Frisbee! The department is collaborating with Fayetteville Disc Association to offer the first public Youth Ultimate Frisbee program in Arkansas. The program will have four divisions for youth ages six through 19. Younger age group games will be a combination of clinic and instruction, while older age groups will play games in a traditional Ultimate Frisbee atmosphere! Registration begins April 3, and practices and games will begin in early June at Kessler Mountain Regional Park. Interested youth can check out two demo days prior to registration. More information will be announced soon.

Fayetteville Parks and Recreation will not be offering a youth softball program in 2017 due to declining participation in the past several years. Staff encourages those individuals still interested in playing to check out non-City leagues such as Fayetteville Fastpitch League and Fayetteville Youth Baseball, or the City of Springdale’s programs. Information can be found by visiting each program’s website.
