Trail Construction in Gulley Park

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—  Construction on the existing asphalt loop trail and the new Niokaska Creek Trail started earlier this month in Gulley Park. The existing 0.85 asphalt loop trail, originally constructed in 1992, is being replaced an 8-foot-wide concrete trail. The two existing 5-foot-wide bridges will be replaced with new 12-foot-wide bridges.

The Niokaska Creek Trail is a new, 12-foot wide concrete trail that will act as a link from Sweetbriar Park to the north, through Gulley Park, and connect with the future cycle track to the south along Old Wire Road.

Use of certain areas of the park, as well as portions of the trail, will be restricted at times. Please use caution when near construction areas. The trail work is set to be completed in the Spring of 2019.

Check out this webpage for more information about the Niokaska Creek Trail and the Gulley Park Master Plan.
