Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters, youths are allowed to work with staff and volunteers to improve educational and social enrichment followed by recreational activities. Youths are fed a meal on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by Promise Land Food Program and snacks on Tuesday and Thursday. Kids Nite kids will receive 1:1 assistance with homework. Throughout the school year, youths will also be able to engage in service project initiatives and field trips. Ask about rerouting your child's destination to YRCC afterschool.

X-Factor Homeschool Physical Education
The YRCC offers a free weekly physical education class for children enrolled in home-school to ensure that participants receive training in Health and Fitness as part of their studies. Classes teach the fundamentals of warm-up, physical activity, teamwork, health education, and nutrition all while partnering with local organizations to enhance and expand learning opportunities. X-Factor is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the spring and fall semesters.

Spring & Fall Fundango Field Trips

YRCC provides after-school field trips during the spring and fall semesters for youths aged 6-12. The program involves six to eight off-site activities that allow youths to engage in various activities during the school year. Field trips include a variety of trips: skating, bowling, movies, and more!

Kid Crops Youth Gardening
The ARPA award-winning Kid Crops program is another free program provided by YRCC. The program gives children the opportunity to learn about gardening and nutrition, while planting and harvesting their own crops with Parks and Recreation Horticulturists. Kid Crops is offered seasonally throughout the year. When in season, the program is offered on Wednesday evenings from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the garden located on YRCC’s premises. YRCC's summer gardening program is available from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. to youth registered for Summer Fun4Kids Camp.
