School Year Programs

X Factor Home School P.E. Class

This class is for ages 6-16 years (children must turn 6 by October 1 for fall semester or March 1 for spring semester). The YRCC offers recreation and sport activities that teach health, nutrition, sportsmanship, sports fundamentals, and movement skills. Each semester is designed to expose youth to a variety of ways to stay healthy and active aligning with the YRCC's mission to shape today's youth for tomorrow's challenges via recreational, educational, and opportunities.

Participants sign up for either the Tuesday or Thursday class by week. Both classes meet from 9:30am-11am at the Yvonne Richardson Community Center or locations in Fayetteville (e.g. Kessler Regional Park, Natural Grocers, Lake Fayetteville, etc.). Class location can be found on syllabus.

Kid's Nite After School Program

Monday through Friday from 3:30pm-6:00pm during the fall and spring semesters the YRCC offers an after school program for ages Kindergarten through 8th grade. We provide fun and structured programming that includes a snack and either educational enrichment (math or reading) or homework time. Additional activities include field trips, cooking, gardening, games, engineering, arts, outdoor education, and so much more!

Full time participants come a minimum of 3 days a week, and are eligible for field trips every other Monday. Part time participants come a minimum of 1 day a week.

Girl Scouts

Accepting girls in Kindergarten and 6th grade for 2019-2020 year. 

The YRCC hosts a multi-age level Girl Scout Troop (Daisies through Ambassadors). Girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade participate in age appropriate programming that includes first aid, camping, cooking, sewing, marketing, STEM, and more! Our troop participates in both fall product and cookie sales to teach the girls financial literacy and to support troop expenses. We currently have spots available for girls in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Troop meetings are all Fridays except the last Friday of the month during the school year from 5:30pm to 7:00pm plus field trips and overnights throughout the year. Financial assistance is available.
